In 1999, a guy named Dave held the first Mystery Trip for friends as a summer party. The premise was simple. Show up and we’ll go somewhere awesome, but you won’t know where until we arrive.
That first trip was so much fun that it grew to a larger annual event and Dave started to field requests from friends and co-workers to host trips.
In December 2010, Mystery Trip launched full-time as an experiential event-planning company for companies and individuals alike. Mystery’s Trip’s first and only Chief Mysterious Officer began and traveling around the country leading adventures for delighted, but captive, audiences everywhere.
In 2011, Mystery Trip received a grant from the Awesome Foundation for its work. And in 2012, LA Weekly recognized us in its annual “Best Of” issue. We’ve also been featured in Business Insider as one of the coolest boutique businesses in LA, and by Forbes for making LA even “more awesome.” (Sorry, New York.)
Since our launch, thousands of people nationwide have embarked on Mystery Trips. We’re proud to have planned trips for public figures and some of the most respected companies in the world.
